HOMEGROWN showcased a remarkable lineup of premier Victorian artists at Civic Hall, generously supported by the Victorian Government’s Live Music Restart Program, with Ballarat hosting this exclusive event.

Notable performers included SLOWLY SLOWLY, KISSCHASY, THE GETAWAY PLAN, PRESS CLUB, and LASHES, all of whom delivered dynamic performances.

SLOWLY SLOWLY headlined the event, captivating the audience with their energetic sound and engaging presence. The band’s fourth album, “Daisy Chain,” features a unique juxtaposition of deeply introspective and sorrowful lyrics, skillfully combined with adventurous and vibrant melodies. According to lead singer-songwriter Ben Stewart, this new sound was vital for the project’s success, allowing him to navigate the emotional weight of the material. The resulting record offers a profound listening experience, blending reflective moments with anthemic tracks perfect for lively sing-alongs.

PRESS CLUB elevated the concert experience, with lead vocalist Natalie delighting the crowd by engaging directly with fans during her performance.

LASHES began her musical journey at the young age of seven, driven by an early desire to move beyond traditional music theory and embrace creative experimentation and heartfelt songwriting. A self-taught artist from Ballarat, now based in Melbourne, she has collaborated with a talented group of local producers to develop a distinct style of electro-pop that combines sincere lyrics with captivating melodies.

KISSCHASY, an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in 2002, consists of lead vocalist Darren Cordeux, bassist Joel Vanderuit, guitarist Sean Thomas, and drummer Karl Ammitzboll. During their first decade, they achieved significant success, releasing two gold-certified studio albums, two EPs, a documentary DVD, and a compilation album, selling over 90,000 records. Their performance included a blend of classic hits and new material.

THE GETAWAY PLAN, another notable Australian rock band, was established in 2004. The founding members include lead vocalist Matthew Wright, who also plays piano and rhythm guitar, and Clint Ellis on lead guitar. In 2014, they expanded their lineup to include drummer Dan Maio and his brother, bassist Mike Maio. The band has seen various members come and go, including former bass guitarist Dave Anderson and drummer Aaron Barnett.
