AUGIE MARCH, CODA CHROMA & DAYFEVER

The main event of Be Hear Now took place at the Civic Hall, a live music venue in Ballarat. Featured alongside the esteemed headliner Augie March were local artists Dayfever and Coda Chroma, making for an exclusive experience.

Dayfever, a band from Ballarat, presenteed a distinctive fusion of indie rock, indie pop, and alternative rock. Led by the well-known local musician Connor Toomey, the band’s sonic landscape has been enriched by talented vocalists and a full ensemble, propelling Connor’s introspective lyricism into new and exciting realms. Those who witnessed their performance were particularly impressed by their enthusiastic delivery.

Coda Chroma, the artistic moniker of award-winning songwriter Kate Lucas from Ballarat, is regarded as “one of the most innovative and noteworthy musicians in Australia” (Tone Deaf, 2021). Her remarkable songwriting and singing captivated the audience. Coda Chroma’s music traverses the genres of cinematic folk and baroque pop, characterized by ethereal harmonies and poignant lyrics, all set within intricately crafted production.

The atmosphere electrified as Augie March took the stage.  Their music resonated across the audience, the perennial outsiders had the crowd cheering and singing along to their classic hits.
